XH Platforms

Reliable SDN Platforms

XipLink offers a carefully curated but comprehensive range of networking platforms that address scalability requirements demanded by modern software defined networking applications.

The platforms are uniquely targeted at the wireless service provider environment to provide highly scalable options that can be used to deploy software defined networking functionality at the edge, the network core, or the cloud edge.

These platforms can be deployed as turn-key XipLink appliances, or can also be deployed as a universal Customer Premises Equipment (uCPE), to provide cloud edge services and third-party Virtualized Network Functions (VNF).

Virtualized Appliances

The XipOS virtualized appliances provide advanced Wireless Link Optimization capabilities as well as core platform management capabilities.

The XipOS Virtual (XV) software image is pre-installed on every XipLink Hardware (XH) platform prior to shipping. This allows the required session and aggregate bandwidth to be licensed remotely by applying a license code in the user interface.

For more information on the features and functions of the XipOS software, please refer to the XipLink Software Datasheet.

Partner Virtual Network Functions

XipLink provides the opportunity for partners to execute network functions and edge applications on the XipLink platform.

Typical partner applications are:

  • Network Security
  • Content Distribution
  • Hybrid Cloud Edge Services
  • Internet Of Things (IOT) Event Aggregation
  • Software Defined - Wide Area Networking (SD-WAN)
  • Software At the Service Edge (SASE)

Network functions can be installed as:

  • A Kernel Virtual Module (KVM) Image
  • 2.5G / 3G / 4G Interconnect and Backhaul
  • MSS - Inmarsat, Iridium and equivalent

Partner integration programme

  • Third party software installation must be validated by XipLink
  • XipLink provides partner software integration and testing as a service offering

Base Operating System

All XH series platforms ship with a pre-installed Ubuntu LTS 18 with KVM hypervisor, as well as a base XipOS virtual appliance image.
