Network Software Developer

Description: The ideal candidate is bright and looking for broad challenges that only a small company can provide. You’ll work to develop software that will support the automated testing of our appliance software. Key activities will include test network development and maintenance (including multiple racks of equipment), customer support through the phone and email. Applicants should also feel comfortable using UNIX based systems, such as Linux or BSD. A background in system administration would be ideal. At this time we are open to any level of experience subject to the minimum qualifications. Internal IT support as needed.

This is a good position for you if:

• You love working with networks, including intricacies with TCP and IP. You know what TCP slow start is.
• You have programming experience
• You have some system administration experience
• You prefer to work with Unix varients (FreeBSD and Linux) over Windows
• You would like to work with both highly embedded small systems as well as larger systems
• You enjoy helping other people

Location: Plateau section of St. Laurent Blvd, Montréal, Quebec
Salary: Commensurate with experience. Home internet and free parking programs.
Travel: None to very limited.
Hours: Regular office hours with occasional flextime or overtime as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Expertise with TCP/IP, VPNs, routing and firewalls
• Proficient with working at the command line
• One-year experience with system administration of UNIX-based systems preferred
• Experience with client support through phone and email
• Firewall configuration
• Good english communications skills • Experience with FreeBSD and Linux
• Experience with Cisco router configuration experience, certification desirable

Nice to Have:
• Expertise with TCP/IP, VPNs, routing and firewalls
• Experience with Robot Framework
• Python Programming Experience
•Matlab and other data analysis experience
