XipLink Acquires Trispen Technologies “@TheOffice” Business Unit
New Capabilities Greatly Enhance Wireless Optimization Technology
September 23, 2008 (Montreal, QC and Reston, VA) – XipLink, the technology leader for standards-based wireless optimization today announced they have signed an agreement to acquire certain intellectual and capital assets of Pretoria, South Africa based Trispen Technologies, their long-time partner in providing Security Software for Wireless Network Optimization. The agreement also covers the transfer of Trispen personnel into the newly formed entity, XipLink (Pty) Limited. All material terms in the transaction have been agreed while the acquisition awaits South African Regulatory Approval.
“This agreement with Trispen Technologies provides significant additional value for our customers running XipLink Wireless Optimization software” said Jack Waters, CEO of XipLink, Inc. “With this combination, XipLink will be able to broaden our solutions to include VPN optimization over satellite while also providing more deployment options in devices such as wireless optimization appliances, embedded systems and end-user client packages”. The XipLink South Africa team includes core developers, technical support, sales, marketing, administrative personnel and senior management. The agreement also establishes South Africa as the support center for Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia, thus allowing for worldwide time coverage by augmenting the existing support centers in Montreal and Reston, Virginia.
Two key principles of both firms will continue with the combined entity. Trispen CEO Jaco Botha, who will become CTO of XipLink, Inc. stated “We have been working closely for 3 years. The team also brings experience with PC software so we can broaden the availability of XipLink in the near future. In all, the combination is adding both significant feature depth to our product and width in terms of deployment availability.”
